Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) has confirmed their CTPAT preferred status certification has been suspended for 90 days following an investigation of illegal contraband found aboard the MSC Gayane at the port of Philadelphia, PA. Currently, MSC is advising of the possibility of additional customs inspections for freight originating from South and Central America. Aside from these potential exams, MSC does not expect any customs clearance delays for cargo flowing in or out of the United States.
