On June 11, China's Ministry of Ecological Environment began expanded inspections in northern and central China. The crackdown is scheduled to expire July 15, 2018. The expanded inspections will target the cities of Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai, in addition to provinces Anhui, Heibei, Jiangsu, Shaanxi, Shanxi and Zhejiang.
These inspections may effect supply chains, as non-compliant factories will be shutdown. Any shutdowns will be temporary. Trucking may also be effected, as emission standards of commercial trucks will also be under scrutiny.
